” The year is 2055, and climate change has wreaked havoc on the Earth and its peoples. One surviving man, an archivist played by Pete Postlethwaite, combs through a series of documentary footage from 2008: Iraqi refugee children in search of their lost brother, a wind-farm developer embroiled in a fight against an anti-wind power lobby in England, a young medical student in a poor village in Nigeria who aspires to American-style wealth and mobility. As he sifts through reels of film that juxtapose a widespread addiction to fossil fuels with an interconnected global economy, and as he does so in the environmentally-decimated world of 2055, the archivist pleads into to the camera, with befuddlement, regret, and a broken spirit, demanding to know why his (our) generation didn’t do something about climate change when we had the chance.”

What I find remarkable is that more men around the globe don’t realize how much stronger they would be if partnered with a strong woman. Way too often and in too many corners of the globe, women are denied the opportunity to reach their full potential. It’s wrong and it’s backward, and of course, the irony is that by keeping women down, men lose out too.”

- Are Strong Women Scary? - Nicholas D.
1. The column width is too narrow, I’m scrolling all the time

2. It takes a lot of time, because all the goodies are over two pages long and slack time is limited in the office

Bjorn, of ABBA fame, thinks that Sweden has it bad with religious schools. He should visit Oz.

The Australian Federal Government is in the process of handing out AUD$2.6 billion to Australia’s religious schools. What many Australian’s don’t realise is that most of these schools, because of their religious status, as exempt from many state and federal anti-discrimination laws, so they can refuse to take in students, or hire teachers based on their religion, sexual orientation or just about anything else.

Some how having these institutions which suck money and talent out of the public education system and flaunt the laws of the land is supposed to make for a better country. I just don’t see how dividing your country into us, them, them and them is helpful.
